After meeting with Zelensky, Johnson remains firm, no Ukraine aid without enhanced border security

During a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, House Speaker Mike Johnson insisted that any aid provided to Kyiv should include measures for securing the U.S. southern border. Johnson highlighted that these conditions align with the expectations of the American people.

Although Johnson had a positive meeting with Zelensky, he emphasized that the House GOP's stance remains unchanged: Ukraine's funding must be tied to border security. According to Johnson, there is a pressing need for clarity regarding Ukraine's situation and effective oversight of taxpayer dollars. Simultaneously, significant transformations at the border are necessary.

Zelensky also met with Senate Democrat leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, who reiterated their support for Ukraine while emphasizing the importance of border security. McConnell specifically voiced his commitment to equipping the U.S. military to counter Chinese aggression. He also expressed unwavering determination to address the national security crisis at the southern border.

This marks Zelensky's third visit to Washington, D.C. since the war commenced in February 2022. Later today, he is scheduled to meet with President Biden.

It seems like nothing we do is helping our situation. They're more powerful than us. We need to do what Canada and some other countries are doing to their oligarchs communist socialists out of our government.
