Just 34% of voters think Biden would finish term if reelected: Trump is slightly ahead of Biden

According to a recent poll conducted on September 12-15, 2023, by CBS News/YouGov, it was found that slightly more than one-third of voters believe President Joe Biden will likely complete his second term if reelected in 2024.

In contrast, 44% of voters think he is likely to leave office before the end of his second term, and 22% remain unsure. Interestingly, the poll also revealed that in a hypothetical 2024 matchup, former President Donald Trump holds a slight lead over Biden at 50% to 49%.

Delving further into the motivations of likely Biden voters, it appears that their decision to vote for him is largely driven by their opposition to Trump, rather than unwavering support for Biden himself. While 49% of likely Biden voters claim to support and vote for him, a higher percentage of 51% state that they are casting their ballots as a means to oppose Trump.

On the other hand, likely Trump voters seem to be primarily motivated by their support for the former president rather than their opposition to Biden. A significant majority of 61% state that they are voting mostly to support Trump, while 39% intend to vote against Biden.

It is worth noting that the poll surveyed a total of 4,002 U.S. adults, and the margin of error is estimated to be 2.1%.
