NOT A SHOCK POLL: Americans worry about Biden's mental health more than Trump's

The mental capacity and fitness of President Joe Biden appear to trouble voters more than concerns over his chief Republican rival, according to a recent survey. Speculation over Biden's cognitive health has grown as he has made a string of gaffes and told bizarre anecdotes.

In a recent NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ survey, 52.21% of Americans expressed "very concerned" about Biden's cognitive health and his ability to complete a second term, while 22.10% were "somewhat concerned."

Comparatively, concerns about the cognitive health of former President Donald Trump, 77, were noticeably lower, with 38.22% very concerned and 20.76% somewhat concerned.

Biden's approval rating currently stands at 43.28%, with 16.84% strongly approving of his job performance and 26.44% somewhat approving. However, 56.72% disapprove, including 40.67% who strongly disapprove and 16.05% who somewhat disapprove.

The survey also revealed that 70.68% of respondents support a maximum age limit for members of Congress.

These results are concerning for the commander-in-chief, as he has recently lost ground to Trump in polling. The Republican currently holds a 1.1% lead over Biden in the RealClearPolitics polling average.
