Sarah Huckabee Sanders endorses former boss Trump for president

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who previously served as the White House press secretary from 2017 to 2019, has officially endorsed her former boss, Donald Trump, in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. In a statement released to the media, Governor Sanders emphasized that this election is not simply a matter of right versus left anymore, but rather a choice between what she termed as "normal versus crazy."

Governor Sanders expressed her concern that President Biden and the left are doubling down on what she perceives as "crazy" policies, and she believes that it is time to return to the normal policies of the Trump era. According to CNN, Governor Sanders stated, "The time has come to return to the normal policies of the Trump era which created a safer, stronger, and more prosperous America, and that's why I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President."

As part of her endorsement, Governor Sanders will be joining Donald Trump at a rally in Hialeah, Florida, on Wednesday, coinciding with the third Republican presidential primary debate scheduled for that evening in Miami.

Previously, Donald Trump had endorsed Governor Sanders' bid for governor in 2022, further solidifying their political alliance. Trump expressed his gratitude for Governor Sanders' endorsement, stating, "We had great success in the White House, and it's an honor to have Sarah's endorsement. I look forward to having her at the big rally in Hialeah this Wednesday."

News of Governor Sanders' endorsement comes shortly after Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds voiced her support for Trump's primary rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, showcasing the divided landscape within the Republican Party leading up to the 2024 presidential election.
