U.S. urges Americans to flee Lebanon

The State Department, on Sunday night, issued an advisory urging U.S. citizens to depart from Lebanon due to the "unpredictable security situation." Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in an interview with CBS News, accused Hamas of preventing Americans from leaving Gaza, exemplifying their disregard for the wellbeing of civilians.

The Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs shared an urgent alert on Twitter, advising Americans in Lebanon to leave immediately, highlighting the availability of commercial flights albeit at reduced capacity.

Additionally, the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon discouraged travel to the country and advised U.S. citizens who choose not to depart to prepare contingency plans for emergency situations.

Secretary Blinken further called upon Israel to facilitate the delivery of essential aid to Palestinians in Gaza while affirming Israel's right to take action against Hamas leadership. He emphasized the importance of preventing future incidents and reiterated that no country could accept the perpetuation of the current situation.
